Instruction for WildBerry 5″ DSI Touch Screen

Introduction

WildBerry 5inch DSI display is designed specifically for Raspberry Pi computers and connects directly through the MIPI DSI interface, providing excellent image quality, low latency, and responsive capacitive touch control without occupying the HDMI port.

The display supports the latest Raspberry Pi OS and works with Raspberry Pi 5, Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, and other compatible Raspberry Pi boards.

Hardware Connection

Parts Needed

You will need the following parts:

  • 1x 5inch DSI touch screen with DSI cable
  • 1x Raspberry Pi board;
  • 1x Power adapter
  • 1x Micro SD card (new and 16GB up)
  • 1x TF card reader

Install Hardware

Connect DSI screen with Raspberry Pi 4/3/2 through 15pin-1mm to 15pin-1mm cable

  1. Pull the DSI slot switch
  2. Insert the DSI flat cable (put the contact points of cable upward)
  3. Push the DSI slot switch
  4. Insert the other end of DSI cable to DSI port of Raspberry Pi 4/3/2
  5. Insert a TF card with OS in Raspberry Pi board
  6. Install Raspberry Pi board back of DSI Screen
  7. Install stand on DSI screen
  8. Power on Raspberry Pi board

Connect DSI screen with Raspberry Pi 5 through 15pin-1mm to 22pin-0.5mm cable

  1. Pull the DSI slot out
  2. Insert 15pin-1mm end of DSI cable in DSI port of DSI screen (put the contact points of cable upward)
  3. Push the DSI Slot in
  4. Insert the 22pin-0.5mm end of DSI cable to DSI port of Raspberry Pi 5
  5. Insert a TF card with OS in Raspberry Pi board and power on the board
  6. Install Raspberry Pi board back of DSI Screen
  7. Install stand on DSI screen
  8. Power on Raspberry Pi board

Note:

  1. Power off the Raspberry Pi when install DSI screen
  2. Ensure the ribbon cable is fully inserted and locked.
